As we have obtained this G-COE program after highly critical evaluation, I consider the adoption of this Program as a great honor. I am also proud to say that Ehime University was the only University selected in the Shikoku island together with Tottori University in the Chugoku-Shikoku district.

This success and high evaluation of Ehime University has become possible by the joint efforts of Center for Marine Environmental Studies together with the activities of other supporting groups working on environmental studies and further by the overall efforts of the staff and students of Ehime University. This will positively stimulate global environmental conservation and protection, and also encourage people to participate in these activities.

Ehime University has a plan to establish a graduate school specialized in the field of environmental and life sciences, this success will become a driving force for many such future plans.
