The Global COE Program is imposed to promote the academic and research activities of young scientists.
The present COE has programs of funding support for research activities, conference participation,
overseas study, etc aiming at educating doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows to grow as world-class scientists.
We are also promoting the education program for overseas students to be a leader in environmental studies
by establishing a Special Course on Asian Environmental Studies in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering from October, 2007.

Fostering the leadership talents |

- Planning, projecting, and practicing overseas surveys, special seminars (by reputed scientists), international
symposia, workshops, etc by doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows
- Evaluation of the above activities by invited reputed scientists
- Fostering intellectual thoughts and interdisciplinary ideas of various research fields by supporting and encouraging
the Association of Young Scientists, an autonomous and independent group of doctoral students and post-doctoral
fellows

Strengthening research talents of students from developing countries |

- Accepting annually some overseas students through Academic Exchange Program from foreign research institutes
and educating them through the Special Course on Asian Environmental Studies in the Graduate School of Science
and Engineering, Ehime University
- Educating the above students by English lectures of CMES Professors and various other programs of COE
- Practicing special education programs such as academic seminars, exercises, experiments, etc for overseas students
by the reputed guest professors from developing countries
- Projecting the internship programs by the industry-university cooperation
